Comprendere e raccontare le vie dello sfruttamento dei migranti nel settore agricolo e agro-alimentare, in Italia e in Europa: questo l’obiettivo di “New Plantations”, uno studio che ha coinvolto per oltre due anni importanti istituti di ricerca europei assieme a soggetti attivi nella lotta allo sfruttamento, associazioni e artisti.

L’evento di chiusura di “New Plantations” si svolgerà al KVS, a Bruxelles, il prossimo 14 dicembre, con una presentazione dei risultati raggiunti che rispecchia l’approccio multidisciplinare dell’intero progetto.

Non una conferenza frontale, dunque, ma un laboratorio articolato su una serie di tavoli tematici, volti ciascuno a sviscerare uno dei tanti aspetti che la ricerca ha affrontato.

L’evento si chiuderà con una performance a cura di Cantieri Meticci, che ha preso parte attiva al progetto.

With less than one month to go, we gladly invite you to the closing event of the New Plantations project.

For the last two years our international research team from Switzerland, Belgium and Italy has analyzed migrant work conditions in Europe, focusing on dynamics of illegalization, racialization and labour exploitation in the contintent’s agricultural sector.

Directed by a group of activists, artists and academics, the event will highlight the forces at play in the European horticultural industry. Rather than a classic presentation-based conference, the workshop will be pinpointed around several interactive tables, each of which will address a specific theme. The event will be closed by a short theatre show by Cantieri Meticci, whose members have been active participants in this project

C’est avec plaisir que nous vous invitons à l’événement de clôture du projet New Plantations.

Au cours des deux dernières années, notre équipe de recherche internationale – suisse, belge et italienne – a analysé les conditions de travail des migrants en Europe en se concentrant sur les dynamiques d’illégalisation, de racialisation et d’exploitation du travail dans le secteur agricole.

Dirigé par un groupe de militants, d’artistes et d’universitaires, l’événement mettra en évidence les forces en jeu dans l’industrie horticole européenne. Plutôt qu’une conférence classique, l’atelier se développera en plusieurs tables de conversation interactives, chacune d’entre elles traitant d’un thème spécifique. L’événement sera clôturé avec une restitution performative dirigée par la Compagnie italienne Cantieri Meticci dont les membres ont participé activement au projet.
