Addà passa' a nuttat ! Contro ogni sfruttamento: terra, lavoro… liberazione

Against any exploitation: land, labor … liberation

In Italy, in recent years, immigrants have been involved in many revolts and struggles to vindicate their rights of people and workers.

In particular, the South of Italy has been the scene of important struggles waged by workers immigrants. At Castel Volturno, in the Piana del Sele, at Rosarno and the extraordinary strike self-organized of this summer at Nardò.

Living conditions reported, and told by several newspapers all around the world, are similar to thousand of workers that live in many other agricultural areas of the South: the Capitanata, the Piana di Gioia Tauro, the North of Basilicata, the Piana del Volturno the Metapontino, the Piana di Sibari, the province of Bari, Siracusa, Trapani and Ragusa.

Territories very different, but they have in common the fact that the precarious balance of the agricultural sector – in some cases permanent crisis, in other cases in good health condition – is governed exclusively on the exploitation of immigrant labor. Along with the concentration of ownership in favor of large agribusiness groups, crime and the large-scale distribution. Peasants, laborers and consumers find themselves victims of this system that leads to the progressive erosion of the rights, wages and social welfare.

On October 15, at the first European day of action against the economic crisis, these workers will be in Rome with their experiences of exploitation and struggle, alongside thousands of other workers, foreigners and Italians, along with agricultural producers and groups of critical consumption, together with trade unions which are clear that the conquest of the rights of the past is a trench to protect the rights of all.

Also in Rome, October 16, will be held at FAO The World Food Day. A special occasion to remember that food does not fall from the sky, but is the work of thousands of workers that grow, collect, transform, distribute, to ensure that arrives on our tables every day, buying it at a very high price for our wages.

By participating in the demonstration on October 15 and the holding of a meeting on the 16th, we lay the groundwork for the opening of a season of struggle which put the work and land conservation in the middle of feeding and agriculture policies.

  • The October 15 national demonstration from Piazza della Repubblica, San Giovanni (we'll meet out of the Metro Termini Via Giolitti, 13:00 together to reach the concentration).

  • October 16 public meeting at the SNIA CSOA Ex – Via Prenestina 173 – Rome, at 11.00 to discuss the development of a platform for the construction of a united front to lead a new era of struggle against exploiters and speculators.
