II edizione di Fuori dal Ghetto – Out of the Ghetto Night a Londra
L’evento è alla sua seconda edizione e quello che vuole fare è raccontare quali sono le condizioni dei lavoratori migranti durante la raccolta del pomodoro da conserva, raccontare il progetto Fuori dal Ghetto e Boreano attraverso una mostra fotografica. Foto di Tiziano ovviamente.

we are delighted to invite you to the II edition of Out of The Ghetto Night, a fundraising event to break the
silence.
In collaboration with Fuori dal Ghetto, Osservatorio Migranti and other Italian no-profit associations based in
Basilicata, (Italy) on Friday 14th of November we will be hosting a charity evening in order to raise
funds for a very important cause.
Some of you may know that every summer there are many migrants (most of them from Africa)
coming to Italy for the tomato harvest in the fields of some regions of the South, such as Puglia,
Basilicata and Calabria. Unfortunately, very often, they are exploited by the employers, shameless
gangmasters who force them to work in extremely tough conditions.
As Italians in London, we’ve decided to help the local associations which are involved in many
projects aiming to help those exploited migrants such as the arrangement of italian lessons,
organic tomatoes farming, legal and medical bureaus.
This issue is not something concerning just Italy but, actually, somehow is directly connected with
England too.
In fact, very often, the tomatoes which are harvested on those fields, are ending up
on the shelves of very well known chains such as Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose and Morrison’s.
So join us at Out of the Ghetto Night where you will be amazed by the passionate and emotive music of Terra Viva and by the incredible jazz of Barbara Reggio and Craig Carri.
A beautiful photographic exhibition of Tiziano Doria will show us what is the reality like, in those fields.
We will wait for you at the very incredible and well know venue LookMumNoHands! (Mare Street) with a free tasty aperitif.
The £5 ticket you will pay on the door will support the school in the ghetto in Boreano (Italy).
It is a good a good cause and will be an enjoyble evening. On the 14th of November, come along and make the difference!
